Description

On International Museum Day, we present a sequel to our highly appreciated National Museum Walk, as we explore the National Museum’s galleries from the 14th to 18th centuries. The museum houses one of the most respected collections of art and antiquities from South Asia. The galleries of this post-independence building take a visitor through a gamut of experiences from as far back as 5000 years ago, weaving a complex tapestry of Indian civilizational and cultural identity.

The tour takes one through several highlights of India’s history, through a close look at artifacts from different time periods and regions. We will go through four galleries that encapsulate the spirit of medieval India’s syncretism. The focus of the walk is on political structures and socio-religious life in medieval India.

This guided tour is free.
