Briefly describe the history of the museum, its collection and donors.
The external structure of the National Police Museum is a memorial for martyred soldiers, and was built by the Delhi Art Gallery. The museum itself was built by Vama Communications, a Gujarat-based company. Manoj Yadav, currently the Director General of Police (DGP) of Haryana, played a huge role in the development of the museum. The institution makes prominent use of technology and multimedia facilities in both English and Hindi. It represents the Indian Police Services (IPS), and has a separate section for the police services of each state. Of particular interest is the walkway to the museum, which demonstrates the evolution of the modern-day police force, from medieval to modern India. While the museum does not have a cafeteria, library or conservation lab, it often undertakes tours for school children.
