Briefly describe the history of the museum, its collection and donors.

Collected by Fr. Henry Heras, the exhibit comprises Indian antiquities, pre-historic pottery, Gandhara sculptures, bronze and brass icons of Shaivite, Vaishnavite, and Jaina deities, Indian and Christian ivories, woodwork, coins, and some miniature paintings. The stupa from Nalanda dated to 9th century A.D. is one of the iconic artefacts in this collection. Another major highlight at this museum is a collection of cylindrical Mesopotamian seals dated to different periods, the earliest of which dates back to the 3rd century B.C.
