Description

Founded by the late Jugal Shrimal, the Dolls Museum at the Nehru Children’s Museum houses dolls from over 92 countries. Besides Dr. Monju Dam’s extensive, personal collection of different dolls from all over the world, the museum has several indigenous dolls donated by dignitaries/consulates of different countries, a huge range of toys and vintage toy cars, spanning over decades. It also has two large scale, panel-by-panel installation of the two epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, directed by Jugal Srimal himself. The history of the museum has been intricately associated with the cultural development of the youth in the city, in terms of both arts and crafts. This walk aims to entertain and introduce children to the unique and wonderful collection of dolls and epics in the gallery of the museum.
