Description

he Partition of the Indian sub-continent in 1947 resulted in the largest mass migration in human history, directly impacting between 12–18 million people. This walk takes you through the galleries of the Partition Museum and explores this aspect of Indian history in the context of oral histories and narratives of Partition survivors.

The first part of the walk covers the decades leading up to Partition and looks at the social, cultural and political situation prevailing in the sub-continent through the narratives of people interviewed by the museum. The second half of the walk discusses stories of migration and resettlement following Partition and its effect on individuals as well as society.

This guided tour is specially curated for students from Mission Deep Trust.
